On Thursday, 28 February 2008, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Jean Lemierre, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In the course of the meeting, A.Yatseniuk and J.Lemierre discussed the issues concerning ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation between Ukraine and the EBRD by the Ukrainian parliament, projects of cooperation, prospects of investments to the Ukrainian Party.
Thus, Jean Lemierre, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development expressed his concern with the unstable situation in the political life of Ukraine, which bears negative influence on ratification of the Agreement.
The Parties also discussed the possibilities of attracting investments to the holding of football championship in Ukraine in Year 2012.
"Successful cooperation between Ukraine and the EBRD testifies of the development of relations with the private foreign business, which results in the rise in the scope of investments in our country", - stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
